The Role 

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a reliable, efficient, event-driven data platform, and developing data models for use by Data Analysts and business users. Working closely with Engineering, you will define and ensure adherence to data contracts for Runa platform microservices to make sure we have a reliable flow of rich data, as we progressively migrate away from legacy Postgres source tables to events from the new Runa platform.

What Excites You 

• The opportunity to question existing solutions and find more efficient and robust ways of doing things, including optimising  slow-running, complex models to reduce costs and dev time 

• Improving data quality, looking for solutions that deliver robust data pipelines, without placing onerous demands or restrictions on Product Engineers

• Working closely with Infosec to ensure that company data security policies are followed and managing Snowflake access policies and user roles to minimise security risks

• Developing streaming pipelines for real-time data products 

• Engaging with non-technical stakeholders and understanding how your work relates to business outcomes

• Being part of a small Data team, in which you can make a big impact

What Excites Us 

• 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering 

• Strong proficiency of SQL and Python 

• Proven ability to  define and manage data contracts for event-based, schemaless data sources

• Data modelling experience and ability to work  with data orchestration frameworks (ideally Dagster)

• Strong knowledge of at least one cloud data platform (ideally Snowflake)
