Role Description
You will join the Regulatory Research team at Datamaran to support critical functions, including performing data entry and legal research, analyzing regulations using artificial intelligence (AI), and generally supporting the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of Datamaran’s regulatory database.
Your role will be critical to enhancing our database, which consists of 13,000+ regulations. You will be responsible for researching Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) regulations related to specific jurisdictions and inputting findings into our system.
You are familiar with research techniques, detail-oriented, and can execute specific research and data-related projects to improve scope and coverage in line with our business strategy. You are a team player, excited to work alongside our team of legal experts in delivering value for our clients.
You are passionate about the ESG regulatory landscape and will learn and become familiar with the global sustainability reporting landscape. You are a law (or related) student, a research student, a graduate or a more experienced professional new to the ESG field seeking to learn and gain experience.
You will be trained in using our patented technology and will have the opportunity to learn about the synergies between law, ESG risk analysis, materiality analysis, and technology. You will join an international network of talented professionals from whom you will get full support and guidance while being self-sufficient and autonomous.
Breakdown of role:
Regulatory data entry & analysis (60%)
- Undertake data entry of regulations and soft norms to ensure that relevant information is accurately captured and available for analysis.
- Perform analysis of legal texts assisted by AI.
- Conduct quality checks of existing data to ensure the information in our database is accurate, reliable and constantly updated.
- Correcting necessary data items
Regulatory research (30%)
- Research ESG-related regulatory initiatives, national and international regulations, EU Directives, reporting frameworks, guidelines, and industry initiatives
- Conduct ad-hoc research aligned with client requests or business requirements.
- Deep-dive into specific jurisdictions, ESG topics, or other segments to discover new regulations
Support critical functions of the team (10%)
- Support data quality projects
- Support “ad-hoc” requests
Requirements
This is an entry-level/early career stage position requiring the following skills mix:

The role requires that our Data Analysts are prepared to work on a hybrid basis, flexibly from our Valencia office and should therefore be located in Valencia, or within commutable distance (ideally >60 minutes direct)
There is opportunity to join on a full time (40hrs/week) or part time (minimum 20hrs/week) basis
