As our Data Visualization Designer (UI/UX Designer), you will be instrumental in building and supporting the US Data Visualization & Reporting capability, a vital component of the US Data Strategy for the US Commercial Organization at Biogen. Your role entails proficiently transforming raw data into informative and engaging visualizations.

What you will do

  • Design and develop creative, user-friendly reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools (PowerBI).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand requirements.
  • Translate complex data into easy-to-understand visuals and reports.
  • Continually identify ways of improving existing reports.
  • Conduct user research, including user interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gain insights into customer behavior, needs, and pain points.
  • Organize report content and functionalities to ensure easy accessibility and intuitive interactions for different user segments.
  • Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to validate design concepts and gather user feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Communicate design concepts and decisions effectively to stakeholders.
  • Work with data analysts to validate and troubleshoot data-related issues impacting reports and dashboards.
  • Iterate designs based on user feedback, stakeholder input, and usability testing.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure the seamless integration of UI elements.

Qualifications

Who you are:

  • Proven experience as a Report Designer/Data Visualization Designer, with a strong reporting portfolio.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or QlikView.
  • Experience working directly with Power BI (Cloud is a strong advantage).
  • Practical knowledge of SQL queries (data analysis, aggregation functions, window functions) - nice to have.
  • Pharmaceutical commercial data experience is an advantage.
  • Strong eye for detail, color, layout, and typography.
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies, including user research, information architecture, and usability testing.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and user feedback to inform design decisions.
  • Effective conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
