Data Engineer
Description

We are looking for a motivated Data Engineer with strong problem-solving skills and the willingness to work with a large group of people to join our team. This person will be responsible for supporting our business analytics team in building and maintaining the databases that power how we manage the business. Success in this role is highly dependent on the ability to manage tight deadlines, prioritize multiple tasks and achieve effective results in a high energy, fast-paced work environment.

Important note: Working with the US market may affect working hours and potentially working in a middle or second shift, according to the US time zone.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver solutions that are well-engineered, maintainable, and tested consistently and quickly

  • Identify and understand issues, problems and opportunities as it relates to helping our business analytics team function at a granular level

  • Observe system performance in your domain and identify emerging problems

  • Quickly assess and resolve production incidents that arise in the components your team is responsible for

  • Work with a variety of stakeholders across the business to incorporate varying requirements into a robust data system

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent experience

  • Strong analytical skills, ability to learn quickly, communicate and work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Experience with extracting, transforming and loading (ETL) data, particularly from a variety of 3rd party APIs.

  • Significant experience with Postgres, Airflow, Redshift, or strong SQL knowledge.

  • Experience with scripting languages (Python preferred)

  • Familiarity with AWS streaming services such as Kafka and Firehose.

  • Experience building and maintaining infrastructure in AWS or similar cloud environments.

  • Strong debugging/troubleshooting skills

  • Familiarity with scraping tools and technologies

  • Passionate about producing clean, maintainable, robust, well-tested code
