NetSuite AI Group is seeking a Data Engineer to support operating our data pipelines and ETL. This role is also suitable for the recent graduate with a passion for data and a desire to kickstart their career in a cutting-edge IT environment. 

The ideal candidate will have good Object-Oriented programming skills and aptitude for data exploration & analytics. This person will wear many hats in this role, but much of the focus will be on running ETL processes, working with a Data Architect to build data flows, publish data catalogs, manipulate large amounts of data. Beyond technical prowess, this role will need soft skills to clearly communicate complex data dependencies and coordinate across teams. 

 

Objectives of this role

  • Work closely with the Machine Learning and Data Science teams to document data requirements for data pipelines, reporting and model development.
  • Help streamline data workflows and feed data for building out ML models.
  • Load data into repositories like Oracle Datawarehouse, Lakehouse etc.
  • Build dashboards in Analytics and other reporting tools.
  • Understand basic project management and coordinate across teams, report metrics and build training content.

Responsibilities

  • Setup/populate data catalogs, data lakes and data pipeline services for AI/ML users.
  • Support data exploration to discover values from datasets and find more data to catalog.
  • Develop Python/Java scripts (other OOP), as well as use SQL to support ETL processes.
  • Manage ETL process from disparate data sources.
  • Create reporting and dashboards in Analytics platform.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams and other data owners.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related discipline is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficient with Object Oriented Programming and an eagerness to learn about ML/AI.
  • Proficient with using SQL in any Database.
  • Understanding of Cloud platforms (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure preferred).
  • Good understanding of web development, data interchange and APIs.
  • Strong communication, project coordination skills and strong teamwork.

Preferred skills and qualifications

  • Hands on experience with operating in Cloud – Oracle Cloud Infrastructure preferred.
  • Certification in any Object-Oriented Programming, Cloud infrastructure, data tools or SQL will be an added advantage.
  • Understanding of logging and observability (ELK, OpenSearch etc)
  • Knowledge of data processing, data analysis or ETL process.
